Future Trails

Baltimore to BWI Trail – An extension of the existing BWI Trail spur in Linthicum to the Baltimore City line where it will connect to the existing Gwynns Falls Trail which is part of the Baltimore Greenway Network.  There are two grant-funded studies underway to design this trail connection.

Annapolis Network – Connect from the existing B&A Trail via the  bike lane on Rt 450 and  the USNA Bridge by filling the gaps between existing trails including the USNA Stadium Loop Trail, Poplar Trail, Spa Creek Trail and South Shore Trail. There are studies underway or planned to design connections to close these gaps.

Odenton to BWI Trail – This is our largest gap area and also home to Maryland’s largest employer Ft.Meade, one of the busiest MARC stations, Arundel Mills Mall, Live Casino & Hotel, BWI Airport and numerous communities and destinations. Studies are underway to identify  trail routes to close this gap.

Howard County to BWI Trail – A trail connection from the BWI Trail, possibly in the area of Stoney Run could connect to Patapsco State Park.    The proposed Patapsco Regional Greenway trail  suggested connections that would link Howard County, Anne Arundel County, Baltimore County,  Baltimore City and Carroll County.
